A woman with short, curly hair and glasses smiling in an art or craft studio. She is wearing a sleeveless top and an apron, holding a small object in her hands. The background shows shelves with art supplies and artwork on the walls.

I’m Rachel, the potter who designs, crafts, packages and posts all pieces for Satya Ceramics.

My studio is at the back of the house. I’m constantly walking in and out, changing shoes, checking drying rates, putting aprons on and off, updating the website and all the rest. It’s my happy place.

I got the mud-bug when we were living in Boulder, Colorado ten years ago. I was on a teacher exchange and the dopamine hit of making something beautiful from raw earth had me hooked. I’m not teaching much anymore, these days I’m happy to be a learner, guided by what I love most - growth, truth and beauty.

I'm grateful to live and work on beautiful Bundjalung Country and regularly share images of this special place, so follow along on IG. I honour the Arakwal people, past and present, who take care of Country for the benefit of all.
